Not all orthopedic injuries require surgery, but in most cases it is necessary to immobilize them to allow the body to heal, in those cases orthotic devices are used, either prefabricated (eg boots, wristbands, collars) or adapted to the injury (eg gypsum / fiberglass splints).

Joint replacement

It is a type of surgery where the injured cartilage is replaced by metal implants due to advanced joint degeneration. It’s commonly performed in the shoulder, hip and knee.


It refers to fracture fixation through surgery by placing various types of metallic implants, such as plates, screws or nails. The same fracture can be treated with different implants, the final decision will depend on your surgeon’s preference and experience.
